The series builds on the female gazeas a concept of the gaze that emphasizes self-determination and intimacy and expands this gaze into the queer gaze, which breaks up normative gender images and binary body concepts. Through the anonymized, cropped staging and the formal dissolution of the figurative, the images take up a fragmented, fluid discourse on identity. This sensual, abstract visual language creates fluid body images that open up new ways of engaging with gendered visual regimes, body experiences, and visibility. Unpredictable transformations in seemingly endless repetition, as the gaze searches for solid ground.Water is in constant motion, shaping the land slowly and continuously as it has done since the earliest days of Earth's history. On Lanzarote, where this video was filmed, volcanic rock, once erupted from the Earth's interior, is gradually dissolving and being washed away by the restless sea. It is an unstoppable process. From an unusual, even 'inhuman' perspective, the camera hovers above the swirling masses of water with a detached gaze. The movements of the waves form graphic structures and patterns of construction and decay that are inherent in life. Creatio continua. The notion of an everlasting divine creation is reinforced by the sense of human powerlessness in the face of overwhelming natural forces. ORBITATION shifts the perspective and approaches elementary transformation processes in formal abstraction. discuss the consequences of the advancement of new technologies and artificial intelligence in their daily lives. To illustrate their points, they decide to use a case study: they invent a fictional, allegorical story about a group of friends who find themselves one night in an accident involving a new model of autonomous car, developed by the technology company they work for. In a mix of theater and science, AppHuman asks the question of the human in the face of the massive technologization of the world, with all that this implies: the fusion of man and machine through the algorithms that run social networks and smartphones, mass surveillance, the use that technology companies make of personal data and, above all, the question of bias and ethics in a world governed by automated systems. The complex issues of the play are reflected in its video design in various ways: A 360°-monitored everyday world is mirrored in the theatre space, while avatars act on digital surfaces in the stage space and the story is driven by an on-screen A.I. character.
